One of the outstanding features provided by JIWA Financials is the ability to cater for multi-warehousing to facilitate storage, transfer and selling of stock from various Warehouses.
A Remote Warehouse is a warehouse that can order stock from another warehouse. A Central Warehouse is a warehouse that distributes stock to other warehouses.
When a Remote Warehouse creates a Sales Order and stock is placed on Back Order, goods to fulfil that Sales Order must be ordered. These goods are then ordered by creating a Purchase Order on either:
provided the correct ordering parameters have been set up in the Inventory record. The Auto Search function finds all Inventory requirements for Back Order and standard minimum Inventory levels, if applicable.
Where a Purchase Order is to a Supplier, then standard procedures are followed.
In the case of a Purchase Order created on a Central Warehouse, activating the Purchase Order automatically generates a Warehouse Transfer Outwards form for the Central Warehouse and the goods are placed on Back Order for that Remote Warehouse.
When the Warehouse Transfer Outwards is activated in the Central Warehouse, available goods are transferred back to the Remote Warehouse and Process Back Orders will then run this stock into waiting Sales Orders. Process Sales Orders will then complete this part of the cycle. If the Central Warehouse does not have the stock (all or part), then a Back Order record for the shortfall is created in the Central Warehouse by the transfer activation provided the System Configuration > Warehouse Transfers > EnableBackOrders is ticked. The Central Warehouse orders the goods from the Supplier (or another Central Warehouse).
When the goods are supplied, their delivery is recorded on Goods Received Notes. Process Back Orders then generates a new Warehouse Transfer Outwards for those Back Ordered goods for the Remote Warehouses. This Warehouse Transfer Outwards is to be activated manually.
Process Back Orders is then run again for the Remote Warehouse to run this newly transferred stock into outstanding Sales Orders. Process Sales Orders is then run to finalise the Sales Orders and post to the General Ledger.
